PSS is Hiring an Education Specialist Near Bronx, NY

Make a difference in the lives of New York City’s older adults, their families and the community. For over 50 years PSS has performed vital and important work – through its 10 senior centers, two apartment buildings, caregiver services and affiliated programs, the agency touches the lives of over 1,000 people a day.

As the Education Specialist for the PSS Circle of Care program the goal is to host and facilitate educational training workshops, educating the community on dementia and enhancing programming.

This is a full-time non-exempt position that reports to the Director of Dementia Caregiving.

Responsibilities: 

  • Host and facilitate (in-person and virtual) educational training and workshops
  • Host and facilitate caregiver wellness events
  • Host and facilitate Joint Enrichment events
  • Host Dementia Friends info sessions and workshops
  • Engage and generate content partners for events
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in Salesforce database
  • Work with program director to enhance programming
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Effectively utilize social media and other digital tools to promote programming
  • Submit required reports in a complete and timely fashion
  • Comply with PSS Personnel Policy Regulations
  • Attend Supervision and Team Meetings
  • Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Education Human Services, or related fields
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish)
  • Relevant experience in event coordination or outreach
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Organizational Skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office and Social Media
