Job Profile Remote Security Specialist 2024 1 day ONSITE required for this role

Job Description :

Elevate your career in a vibrant and fast-paced environment as a Remote Security Specialist at PSM Partners. You will play a key role in managing and optimizing our comprehensive suite of security services, including EDR, SIEM, Spam filters, Azure Security Center, and perimeter defenses.

As an expert in threat mitigation and system integrity, you will be tasked with hunting threats, responding to security events, refining runbooks, and fine-tuning our security infrastructure to minimize false positives and maximize protection.

PSM Partners leverages the Microsoft Security Stack experience here is critical.

Functions, Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Proactively triage and investigate security alerts using PSM’s cutting-edge tools.
  • Escalate incidents efficiently according to standard operating procedures and incident response plans.
  • Conduct regular and thorough threat hunting to preempt security breaches.
  • Synthesize data from various monitoring tools to provide coherent security event analysis.
  • Optimize the configuration of all security tools to meet established best practice baselines.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior security analysts.
  • Lead and contribute to security training sessions for PSM clients, enhancing their defenses and awareness.

Competencies, Qualifications & Certifications :

  • 1 day per week ONSITE presence is REQUIRED in the greater Chicagoland area.
  • MUST live within the Greater Chicagoland area to be considered for this role.
  • Preferably experienced in a consulting role, delivering top-notch technology and security services.
  • 3-5 years of dedicated IT Security experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce sophisticated, client-ready presentations.
  • Well-versed in major security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27000, and PCI-DSS.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft security management tools and technologies; (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Identity, Azure Information Protection, Microsoft Cloud App Security).
  • Professional certifications, such as CISSP, Security , or equivalent credentials are preferred but not required.
