The Roads and Pads Laborer/Roustabout (Summer Hire) performs a variety of manual and medium to unskilled tasks required to support the movement of materials, equipment and supplies between field locations and operating facilities. The position will work in direct support of the roads and pads operators and operator leads. 

This position will be a temporary North Slope based, rotational assignment with an expected duration of approximately 90 days. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.

 
Essential Job Functions:

• Attend various technical, developmental and safety trainings 
• Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures 
• Ability to identify and safely operate standard construction and maintenance hand and power tools
• Tend pumps, compressors, generators to provide power for tools, machinery and equipment, or to heat and move materials, lubricate machinery, equipment and parts
• Clean and prepare shops to eliminate possible hazards
• Clean tools, equipment, machinery and work areas
• Perform manual labor including cleanup, “stick-picking” shoveling, compacting and backfilling excavations
• Provide assistance as directed for other work crew members
• Demonstrate support for company and client HSE management system 
• Ability to complete a task hazard awareness assessment and administer mitigation to identified hazards
Routinely operate Worley/client light and/or medium duty vehiclesSafely climb ladders of various heights

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

• Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision 
• Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions 
• Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate 
• Capable of learning various company and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrate required competencies 
• Basic knowledge of construction machines, equipment and tools, including design, uses, repair and maintenance

Physical Demand/Work Environment:

Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met b an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to: 

·Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

·Standing for prolonged periods of time.

·Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather

·Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.

·Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.

·Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

·Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

·Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

·Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.

·Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Valid drivers license and the ability to be covered by Worley’s auto insurance provider required 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
• Construction, or prior north slope experience preferred
