Your Team & Role
As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist within the Cyber Defense and Response organization, you will be responsible for developing finished intelligence that is relevant and actionable using the intelligence life cycle. This role will be responsible for tuning all Cyber Threat Intelligence tools to meet our intelligence requirements. You will partner with other security professionals to continuously improve our security posture. You will work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
  • Collection, analysis, and dissemination of timely finished intelligence that meets intelligence requirements of stakeholders.
  • Perform regular analysis of internal log data sources to identify potential threats and attack trends.
  • Support the Threat Hunting and Security Operations teams by triaging IOCs.
  • Support the Detection Engineering team by providing curated research and reporting that can assist the team on creation of innovative detections.
  • Analyze threats campaigns targeting Prudential using various Intelligence frameworks. This includes identifying, tracking, and analyzing tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP)s applied as well as mapping them back to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Perform Cyber Threat Assessments based on potential cyber threats and their relevance to Prudential.
  • Integrate and automate the use of cyber threat intelligence to enrich the organization’s security tools, security operations, and incident response.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and industry peers to share intelligence and industry best practices.
  • Apply risk mitigation consistent with company policy and guidelines; apply key risk and infraction identification; referrals and escalations.
  • Bring an applied understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, identify opportunities to provide input to the team, coach others, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day operations.
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
  • Understanding of Windows, MAC, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience or training with analysis of security events from multiple sources including but not limited to events from Security Information Monitoring (SIEM) tools, XDR/EDR, network and host-based intrusion detection systems, firewall logs, and system logs (Unix and Windows).
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and the ability to apply that to Cyber Threat Intelligence reporting and assessments.
  • Applying diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills.

  • Cyber Security Operations
  • Cyber Incident Response
  • Threat Hunting and Adversary Emulation
  • Automation and Engineering
  • Cyber Threat Intelligence
Preferred qualifications:
  • GIAC GCTI, GREM, GCFA, or GNFA.
  • Experience with incident response, digital forensic investigations, security operations, and/or continuous monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Experience with Python scripting language; additional languages a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerShell.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $97,300.00 to $144,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
