Job Title: Junior Project Manager

Client Industry: Information Technology

Location: Minimum four (4) days per month on-site at client locations, Washington, DC. Telework is allowable and to be coordinated with the client.

Job Status: Full-time contract February 5, 2024 - December 31, 2024. NOTE: Possibility to extend services beyond the anticipated period of performance.

Position Summary:

The client is looking for a junior Project Manager to work alongside a team that is designing and developing information management, collaboration, and intranet tools in SharePoint Online for clients located in Washington, DC.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow client IT standards or industry best practices, as directed.
  • Managing project timelines, resources, and scope.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of experience leading cross-functional Agile project teams and ensuring that Agile processes and methodologies are followed.
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a project manager or project Consultant. PMI Certification preferred; Agile program management certification preferred
  •  Experience leveraging Agile Project Management best practices and ceremonies (e.g., sprints, stands, retros, estimating, etc.), to implement new software and digital products in an organization.
  • Able to execute business process/task analysis and translate into user stories.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Gitlab, Jira, Planner, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate at various levels within IT project teams, stakeholders, technical teams, and clients.
  • Must be able to multitask assignments and projects, work with a team, and work well independently.
  • Experience with planning and communicating the launch of new products and features to an organization or division, including developing communications plans, delivering user demos, coordinating support, and executing end-user training programs.

  • Preferred: Experience conducting user research (user interviews, card sorting, contextual inquiries, personas, etc.)
  • Preferred: Experience leading Usability Testing with end users
  • **Most Preferred: Experience as an Agile Coach either in a technology or non-technology role in an organization that diligently applied agile principles, practices, and theory.
  • **Most Preferred: Ability to turn user needs into key performance indicators (KPIs) and/or objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  •  Ability to coordinate resources across program teams.
  •  Knowledge and experience of accounting principles and financial applications.
  • Experience in the full cycle of software development, using both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical security information clearly and concisely both verbally and orally.
  • Knowledge and experience in human resources, benefits, recruiting, payroll practices, and principles.
  • Knowledge and experience of task order applications and technologies.
  • Articulates the program’s strategy and objectives and assesses how it will impact an organization.
  • Defines and oversees a list of dependent projects needed to reach the program’s overall goals.
  • Delivers successful program outcomes.
  • Familiar with the ServiceNow PPM (SPM) system is a plus.
