Providence is calling a Security Officer (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week, Variable Shift) to work at Security in Providence St.

The Security Officer's main duty is to help protect hospital people, property, information and reputation. The officer will carry out his / her duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, act in the best interest of the hospital, and fully support the mission, vision and core values of Providence St. Peter Hospital.

In this position you will :

• Always remain observant and alert.
• Responds to alarms and codes by providing traffic control and assisting with safe patient handling.
• Conduct routine safety walks of the facilities and submits remedial requests for any concerns they identify.
• Routinely engage in stressful situations and at times may be required to use physical force to maintain the safety of the patient care environment, and may be required to run, climb stairs, carry people, or perform other physical acts in response to emergent situations.
• Provide recommendation to clinical staff regarding security matters of caregiver / patient safety, to include patient restraint, release, and safety planning.
• Engage in a wide range of customer service activities involving direct contact with patients and visitors.???????

Qualifications :

Required qualifications for this position include :

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Valid WA Drivers License prior to hire date
• Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) Taser Certification within the first 30 days of employment
• Force Options and Verbal De-Escalation Certification within the first 30 days of employment
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification within the first 30 days of employment
• CS Gel Certification within the first 30 days of employment
• All other hospital certifications within 90 days of employment or certification date specified
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Write clearly and concisely with correct grammar
• Verbal and non-verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include :

• Customer service experience
• Security, law enforcement, corrections officer or military experience
• Physical control and restraint skills
