Providence is currently looking for a strong multi-tasker with excellent communication and organization skills to take on the role of our Home Health Billing Specialist. The Billing Specialist provides superior customer service through written and verbal communication while performing job duties that may include changing priorities and short deadlines. This candidate should have strong administrative proficiency consisting of attention to detail, a sense of responsibility and initiative, computer proficiency (Microsoft Office/Google Suite), and a professional attitude. Through these traits, the Billing Specialist completes billing and collections duties for all patients receiving home health services.

Responsibilities and desired skills include:

• Processes, verifies and bills all Medicare, managed care claims and secondary or tertiary insurances and RAPs in a timely manner and ensures accuracy.

• Responsible for collections on unpaid accounts, processing and posting payments

• Reviews and appeals all unpaid and denied claims, ensuring claims are billed correctly and timely

• Records payments and reconciles remittance advices

• Reviews accounts receivable for assigned payers in order to reduce accounts receivables and enhance cash flow

• Works directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to ensure claims are processed and paid

• Reviews patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtains any missing information

• Verifies insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract discounts

• Submits claims either manually or electronically per Agency Protocol

• Responds to client’s inquiries regarding accounts

• Completes all reports for the management team and forwards promptly

• Maintains confidentiality of all client and employee information

• Responds to patient or insurance inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts

• Understands and practices legal rules and regulations including the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

• Prefer 2-3 years' experience in home health billing

• Previous experience with WellSky/Kinnser, Palmetto GBA, MyNEXUS, Availity, ESolutions, UHC strongly preferred
