PROVAIL has an exciting opportunity for an Assistive Technology Specialist to join our team! The Assistive Technology Specialist is a member of the Mobility and Communications (M&C) program, which is an outpatient therapeutic and assistive technology clinic at PROVAIL. In this role, you will provide assistive technology solutions, equipment recommendations and support to participants in the TED Program to increase their potential in distance communication. You will also aid in efficient operations of the TED resource program and will participate in the coordination of client services, vendor services, trainer schedules, inventory management, compliance, as well as internal & external communication. This role is an integral position that requires a high level of independence. This role requires driving in your own vehicle to support individuals throughout Washington state.
This is a full-time position that typically works Monday-Friday during normal business hours but may require some need for occasional nights/weekends-based business needs.

They created some of the first community services for individuals with cerebral palsy and other severe disabilities in the area. What you'll do:
  • Perform screening for TED resource qualifiers.
  • Assess clients' functioning and distance communication needs to determine equipment options.
  • Provide set-up assistance and instruction to client and client support systems on telecommunication equipment, adaptive devices, speech apps, relay services and accessibility features of iPads/iPhones.
  • Responsible for all aspects of service delivery, including intakes, scheduling, direct services and distribution.
  • Maintain and submit complete and accurate records of training sessions, assessment reports, equipment distribution and other relevant information.
  • Maintain and track procurement and distribution of equipment. Repair equipment as needed.
  • Maintain proficiency in use of assistive technology and adaptive telephone equipment, including Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), iOS Accessibility Features, alternative access options, and other forms of technology that help clients achieve their distance communication goals.
  • Provide detailed presentations and participate in outreach activities including hosting exhibit booths.
  • Work with spoken language and ASL interpreters during client appointments.
Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Maintain positive relations and consistent communication with State of Washington staff.
  • Drive across counties and overnight stays within the State of Washington.
  • Stay up-to-date in the fields of adaptive technology as it relates to the TED program.
  • Develop training materials for a wide range of learning needs/styles.
  • Participate in program development and decision-making processes.
  • Perform month end reconciliation tasks.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.
What you'll bring:
  • Minimum two years of college, preferably in AT/Rehabilitation, i.e. COTA, SLPA, PTA
  • Experience in working with people with disabilities
  • Knowledge of a wide range of assistive technology devices as it relates to people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and Mandatory Reporting practices
  • Experience with basic spreadsheets, email, online document systems, electronic calendar systems, storage and organization of files and folders.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to relate to and be sensitive to the needs of individuals with disabilities. Ability to be innovative and work well under pressure and time constraints. Requires the individual to be a team player with a desire to learn as well as teach.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. and perform physical demands of lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, squatting and standing for long periods.
  • Demonstrated ability with time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently provide attention to detail throughout each task.
  • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking to various situations as they arise.
  • Must have reliable transportation for statewide travel.
