PROSOFT is Hiring a Business Intelligence Developer (BI Developer) (IT) Near Louisville, KY

Job Skills / Requirements

Prosoft is seeking qualified candidates for a Business Intelligence Developer (BI Developer) position with our client in Louisville, Kentucky.

  • This is a direct-hire position with our client.
  • Open to local or remote candidates living within 2-3 hours of our client’s offices in Louisville, KY.
  • This position will not consider C2C candidates nor those on visas or requiring sponsorship. Our client is only able to consider current US Citizens and Green Card holders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • As a BI Developer, you will have a demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining high-performance data infrastructure and relational database management systems.
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications.
  • Develop and execute database queries, conduct database analysis, and update technical documentation.
  • Write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and analysis while ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and performance-tune database and BI tools, systems, and software.
  • Support existing database systems and internal SQL-based applications by investigating operational problems and debugging code.
  • Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure efficient data integration from various sources.
  • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations with Power BI.
  • Performance tuning of Power BI reports, by configuring the dataset modes, import mode/direct query etc.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 4 years of experience working as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Power BI Developer, ETL Developer, or similar role.
  • 2 years of experience working with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Power BI.
  • Experience configuring databases in on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of relational database management systems and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks and processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and data manipulation languages
  • Expertise in troubleshooting database performance and analyzing stored procedures to diagnose/resolve issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, including writing complex queries, and query tuning.
  • Extensive experience with database optimization and performance tuning
  • Ability to design, develop, manage, and troubleshoot with the Power BI suite (Power Query/M/DAX)
  • Advanced experience developing complex reports and dashboards using Power BI
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills, strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment coordinating multiple projects.

Nice To Have Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Logic Apps, etc.
  • Working knowledge of platforms like MuleSoft, Boomi, and Salesforce
