Medical Assistant Duties:

FRONT OFFICE

• Welcome patients
• Process patient intake forms
• Schedule/Reschedule appointments
• Check authorizations
• Complete full cycle patient registration which include: check insurance and identification documents, verifying patient eligibility, and collecting payments

BACK OFFICE

• Room or escort patient to exam room to prepare patient for visit
• Verify patient information, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit
• Perform preliminary physical test, take blood pressure, weight and temperature, report patient history
• Assist the provider with patient education
• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Experience training and giving guidance to other staff members
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medications and injection procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management
• Empathy and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration
• Understand HIPAA requirements; maintain and protect patient information

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant Program
• Bilingual in Spanish
• CPR certification
• Experience in both Front and Back Office
• Some leadership experience
