Here at PSG / CIP, we are a community-based social services organization seeking a passionate individual to join us as the Youth Support Specialist in our Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) program.

IIHS provides therapeutic and parenting services to families involved in or at risk of becoming involved in the formal social services system for abuse, neglect, truancy, and / or delinquency issues.

The program strives to preserve the family, reduce out-of-home placements, and aid in reunification where necessary. Our team of Parent Mentors, Therapists, Youth Support Specialists, and Substance Abuse Counselors provide intensive in-home services to families to address such issues including, but not limited to mental health, alcohol / other drug abuse, parenting, and family conflict.

As the Youth Support Specialist, you will provide individual skill development and support to youth and adults referred through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Program.

You'll help clients achieve their individualized goals by assisting them in their journey toward success. Our program is all about making a difference in the lives of our clients and their families.

We offer a range of services including individual meetings, fun recreational activities that build social skills, crisis intervention, school support, and parent contact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE YOUTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST :

  • Analyze youth capabilities, strengths, and needs to determine the services required to meet the unique needs of youth.
  • Implement, evaluate and review youth goals in collaboration with team members, youth, and their families.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for youth in school, the community, and during emergency and crisis situations.
  • Attend youth / family team meetings.
  • Report on youth progress
  • Organize and facilitate individual meetings and structured recreational activities that assist youth in developing pro-social skills and connections.

LOCATION : Kenosha County Job Center. Some flexibility to work from home when client meetings are not scheduled. Local travel is required to meet with clients within the home or other community spaces, with mileage reimbursement.

Must be able to meet in-person with clients throughout Kenosha County, Wisconsin.

SCHEDULE : Schedule is varied during business hours of Monday through Friday between 9 : 00am to 6 : 00pm.

SALARY : $19.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
