Director of Information Technology and Cyber Security

Summary of Position:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Information Technology and Cybersecurity. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise vision and strategy to ensure our information assets and technologies align with our business objectives while safeguarding against unauthorized access and cyber threats.

What you will be doing:

• Leading business technology planning, offering both current insights and future visions of technology and systems, with a strong focus on Cloud computing/Elastic computing in virtualized environments.
• Researching, evaluating, designing, testing, and recommending new or updated information technology hardware, software, and security protocols, analyzing their impact on the existing environment
• Providing technical and managerial expertise for network asset administration and security tools.
• Developing and enhancing the information security management framework
• Negotiating contracts with vendors and management, including managed services.
• Collaborating with related disciplines through committees or cross-functional teams to ensure consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems, and services.
• Providing leadership to the enterprise's information security and personnel security organizations, including planning, directing, training, and managing staff directly or through subordinate managers or supervisors.
• Guiding the disaster recovery planning team in protecting technology and business resources/assets, selecting recovery strategies, and developing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
• Direct the planning, implementation, and auditing of IT systems, business operations, and facility defenses against breach and vulnerability issues.
• Lead network architecture and security efforts to ensure compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 3.
• Oversee ongoing activities aimed at providing appropriate access to and protecting the confidentiality and integrity of information in compliance with organization and government policies and standards.
• Work directly with business units to facilitate risk assessments, identify viable cybersecurity opportunities, and manage associated risk management processes.
• Assists in marketing and sales efforts for information and cybersecurity business opportunities, coordinating staff training and development to ensure assessment, architecture, and implementation strategies are robust.
• Prepare budget for IT, network monitoring, and threat mitigation efforts.
• Develop procedures to ensure physical safety of employees and visitors.

Knowledge/Experience:

• B.A., B.S. Degree in MIS, IT, or related discipline plus 15 years direct related experience leading IT function, or M.A., M.S., or MBA with 10 years directly related years of experience in a combination of risk management, cyber security, information security and IT leadership jobs.
• Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, including ISO/IEC, and NIST. Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of personal integrity.

DOD Security Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain and DoD Personnel Security Clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level. U.S. Citizenship required

Certificates and Licenses:

• Professional security management certifications in at least three of the following e.g., CISSP, ISSM, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, or CRISC.
• Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
• A valid civilian driver's license is a must, and the ability to obtain a valid military driver's license for operating military vehicles under various conditions is essential.
