Pro Resources is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist Near Detroit, MN

Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist will support HR and Benefits processes by administering numerous clerical functions. In addition, the Human Resources Specialist will assist employees and clients with updating our technology platforms to support client operations.

Compensation:

$24.00/hour

Essential Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Note: Reasonable accommodation may be made in order to perform the essential functions.   • Update Employee Handbooks per client request or as directed for compliance administration.
  • Assist the Benefits Department with benefits administration as needed for the FMLA process.
  • Answer general client and client employee inquiries as they relate to Employee Handbook, PTO, State Paid Leave law policies and FMLA via phone and email.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with clients as needed to discuss Employee Handbook, PTO policies, Paid Leave, and/or FMLA.
  • Ensure that all PTO, Employee Handbook and benefits questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Update and manage internal files and deductions for Employee Handbook, PTO, and State Paid Leave law policies and FMLA.
  • Assist with job descriptions and other client policies as needed.
  • Upload new and updated Employee Handbook to HRIS technology platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Maintain employee and customer confidence by ensuring confidentiality.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Duties:

  • Responsible for backup of incoming phone calls.
  • Back up for ensuring compliance, monitoring, and updating I-9 Employment Eligibility.
  • Prepare outgoing mail as needed.
  • File, scan and/or make copies of correspondence of other printed materials when needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge and previous experience of company benefits, and compliance is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to include potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals and deadlines.
  • Must be resourceful, self-motivated, client focused, and able to work as a team.
  • Advanced computer skills to include Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Excellent customer service to clients and employees.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of related fields of Human Resources is preferred (i.e. benefits, payroll, etc.).

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and driving in a vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more, at times.
  • Ability to travel; both local during the business day.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
