Position Overview:

Prism Health Lab is seeking a dynamic and experienced Shelter Manager/Site Captain to oversee the daily operations of our shelter facility in Chicago, Illinois. The Shelter Manager/Site Captain will play a crucial role in providing supervision, administrative support, and leadership to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the shelter. This role involves managing staff, maintaining schedules, addressing resident concerns, resolving issues, and handling emergency situations with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities:

- Provide supervision and administrative support to shift supervisors, residential aides, and case managers.

- Develop and manage the staffing schedule to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, including 12.5-hour shifts.

- Coordinate and manage the daily shelter schedule, including meals, showers, and other essential services.

- Respond promptly to resident misconduct issues, document incidents, and implement appropriate disciplinary actions as needed.

- Identify and resolve operational challenges within the shelter, ensuring smooth functioning and compliance with policies and regulations.

- Collaborate with the Project Manager to elevate supply and service needs, ensuring the shelter is well-equipped to meet resident requirements.

- Respond to emergency situations as they arise, implementing protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of shelter residents and staff.

Additional Qualifications:

- Background in senior-level case work and licensed social worker with a minimum of 5 years of experience, with a keen interest in assuming a management role.

- Experience working in migrant shelters or backgrounds in immigration or homelessness support services are highly desirable.

- Proficiency in using case management software, including but not limited to CaseWorthy, Penelope by Athena Software, Notehouse, Social Solutions Apricot, Sumac, CharityTracker, and Eto by Social Solutions.

- Flexibility to work 12.5-hour shifts as necessary to maintain adequate coverage and support shelter operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.39 - $23.00 per hour
