Summary

The Kitchen Manger is responsible for the kitchen staff and cooking procedures to successfully create consistent, safe, quality edibles in compliance with the Cannabis Control Commission of MA. Communication, attention to detail, and time management are critical to the success of our kitchen operation. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for navigating day to day operations producing products infused with various Cannabis derived oils. This position will work closely with the Laboratory Manager, Inventory Manager, Purchasing Manager and Processing Manager to ensure workflow meets the necessary specifications and kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly. Must be able to follow instructions and react quickly even in high stress environments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Understanding of company and CCC regulations
  • Ability to guide, train and supervise a Kitchen team of 5 people
  • Maintain a clean and organized Kitchen with proper inventory of all cannabis products
  • Initiates and updates Kitchen training and SOPs
  • Develop an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, employee retention and development.
  • Order production supplies and kitchen equipment as needed
  • Maintain accurate production reports
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the facility
  • Follow recipes and formulas for marijuana infused products
  • Evaluate performance of the operation and make improvements to procedure or work practices to elevate the quality of products
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure compliance with the Department of Public Health
  • Audit inventory regularly to ensure full compliance
  • Create and maintain all product specification documents, recipes, formulas, and food safety plans
  • Day to day management of kitchen area and team including production scheduling, execution, staffing, and capacity planning
