If the above applied to you, please apply to our new Senior Software Engineer role. Our client makes hardware and software for the education industry. The right candidate likes building teams and is curious to learn about areas they may not yet have experience in like video codecs.
In this role you will play a pivotal role in developing and supporting solutions in education technology. You will lead an offshore team and be responsible for helping to build a local team. You'll lead an agile team of 5~7 offshore mid-senior level engineers and testers.
With a hybrid work model you will need to come into the office as required to troubleshoot customer issue on the relevant hardware. Time in office each week is likely 1-3 days in downtown Seattle.
Responsibilities:

• Lead and collaborate with an agile team, actively participating in Scrum activities.
• Review business requirements, provide alternative solutions, and develop imaginative solutions to meet user needs.
• Contribute to development standards by setting new patterns and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer and QA found issues in a timely manner, utilizing strong debugging/troubleshooting skills.
• Design reusable components using standard frameworks and experiment with new technologies.
• Stay current on new and existing technologies through self-guided study.

We seek as much experience as possible with the following, however please note this is a ling list and not all skills are "required". Strong engineers interested in these technical areas should consider applying:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with source code control (e.g., Git) and web frameworks (e.g., React).
• Strong understanding of unit testing, integration testing, and related tools.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to quickly adapt and contribute positively to the existing codebase.
• Leadership skills to lead and work with an agile team.
• Strong programming experience in modern languages such as Node.js, Java/Kotlin, or Go.
• Experience designing/architecting highly scalable & secure cloud services.
• Experience working with wireless streaming protocols and mobile/hybrid applications across multiple OS.
• Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills involving complex systems and multiple devices/platforms.
• Experience leading and collaborating with offshore engineering teams.
