Description
The Director of Finance directs the accounting and control functions at a mid-sized multispecialty medical practice in central CT, while ensuring timely reporting of operating results. This position reports to the CEO of the practice.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise all accounting and payroll functions.
· Prepare the monthly financial statements within the time frames dictated by the Board of Directors
· Analyze and interpret financial results in order to assist and advise the CEO and Board
- Maintain balance sheet analysis on a monthly basis with full supporting detail.
- Prepare accurate cash flow statements and projections on a monthly basis and on request.
- Prepare tax filings for the company, including but not limited to, sales and use tax, annual 1099 and property tax returns
- Work with external accountants to ensure tax deadlines and the year-end process is completed timely
- Prepare timely and accurate external reports or returns as deemed necessary
- Coordination with Third Party Administrators and auditors on profit sharing plan
- Ensure that all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required by the practice are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances, and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
- Ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured, and that all statuary and fiscal reporting requirements are satisfied, which includes any governmental requirements for permits and licenses.
- Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained for the protection of the practice assets against loss or misappropriation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates must have a minimum of BSC or BA in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting/Finance
- Five years in public accounting with Senior/Management experience
- Excel experience required
- Previous experience in health care is preferred
- QuickBooks Enterprise with class specifications is preferred
- Full general ledger experience and month end closing experience is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to lead and develop a Finance team
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
