Pressed Cafe Prudential is looking for a General Manager to learn our business and grow with us! We are a fast-paced, quick service cafe that has an amazing team and we are looking to bring a General Manager on board!

Job Title: General Manager

Results to be achieved by this General Manager position:

• Successfully oversee all aspects of the restaurant’s daily operations including kitchen, dining rooms, counter, coordinating catering orders, ordering and inventory, training, labor costs and employee staffing
• Ability to motivate both the FOH and BOH team to properly execute quick ticket times. Drinks in 2 minutes and food in 3-5 minutes, successfully and smoothly
• The GM should set the tone for the restaurant and work to develop confident and capable managers
• Senior level management should be knowledgeable in both the front and back of the house
• Continue to grow the restaurant’s reputation for outstanding service and food quality within the local market base and regionally

Qualifications necessary for the General Manager position:

• Ability to work 60-70 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on season and staffing needs
• Strong restaurant operation & food and beverage cost control background
• Possess a sense of urgency and be able to instill this in the team
• ServSafe Food Manager, choke safe and Alcohol certified
• Comfortable being in a leadership role and motivating others while at the same time being willing to jump in and cook or assist where needed
• Must be a driven, to achieve goals and progress with own development
• Is organized and can handle multiple projects at the same time
• Have great people skills and the ability to train and motivate others

Additional work requirements for this General Manager position:

• Must be available by phone even during non-working days & times to answer inquiries about the business
• Do everything possible to boost the sales of the restaurant, maintain high guest satisfaction, and ensure a smooth flow to every shift
• Coordinate weekly staff schedules
• Ensure that all staff receive a performance review annually
• Follow all protocols in regards to opening, ongoing and closing tasks
• Instill a sense of urgency in the staff to deliver orders within Pressed Café’s standards
• Manage all weekly orders and organize inventory
• Work with Management Team to create and monitor daily side work, food preparation sheets and cleanliness check lists
• Do cash deposits and be aware of all cash handling in the restaurants as well as overages/shortages and the reconciliation processes
• Effectively utilize manager communication log
• Ensure temperature logs for coolers are utilized daily
• Complete preventative maintenance logs as needed
• Have knowledge of proper portioning and presentation of menu items
• Tend to customer queries and concerns as needed
• Must be able to remain calm in a fast paced and hectic environment, as well as be able to change tasks in an instant based on the needs of the flow of business
• Must be able to work entire shift in a standing or walking position
