Preqin is Hiring a Service Provider Commercial Strategy Lead Near New York, NY

Overview

Preqin’s Service Provider (SP) business unit covers advisors and vendors in the private funds industry; including the law firms, banks, consultants and fund administrators that help facilitate dealmaking in the alternative asset markets. We are looking for a creative, entrepreneurial, analytical, and hard-driving strategic thinker to be our SP Commercial Strategy Lead.

In this role, you will define and execute the sales strategy for Preqin’s fast-growing SP segment, which provides data intelligence and thought leadership to professionals that support the LP-GP relationship in an advisory or service-oriented capacity. This role will report into the Head of Service Providers (SP).

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the commercial strategy for the global SP segment. This will consist of the following responsibilities:

  • Be the go-to authority on our segment’s revenues, understanding our book of business, our retention, client churn, our pipeline, our segments, our sales teams, our whitespace opportunities and our productivity levels
  • Take the lead on how we think about segmentation and segment-level performance while understanding where we are winning and where are we losing and why
  • Identifying whitespace opportunities to cross sell, upsell and win new business in direct and indirect channels
  • Liaise with cross functional teams to understand how our new products are performing and explore how we should approach pricing and packaging (e.g. what is the right package/price/distribution model)
  • Engage with the sales teams to gather feedback from our customers to drive our GTM/product strategy and product/services roadmap
  • Evangelize new products to the sales organisation for new product releases, including running demos and working with the sales team on outreach/pitching
  • Work with the marketing team to identify and optimize sales enablement and product marketing that supports the sales strategy (e.g. how optimized is our GTM efficiency and where can it be improved?)

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • A solid understanding of the B2B SaaS revenue model
  • Excellent analytical skills (ARR, segments, retention analysis, productivity analysis)
  • Exposure to sales environment – recurring revenue business
  • Strong experience in corporate strategy, simplifying and solving complex and ambiguous problems, ideally in a fast growth, international data, or financial technology business
  • Successful track record partnering with and influencing executive-level stakeholders
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, pragmatic, commercial, highly analytical, clear communicator, comfortable with ambiguity
  • Complete ownership of entire workstreams and obsessive attention to detail
  • Previous experience working for a top tier strategy consultancy or leading investment bank is a plus

The salary range for this role in New York is $130,000 - $170,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
