Team Overview:

The Client Services team sits within our global Sales team. It is one of the primary points of contact for clients into the business that have any queries relating to the Preqin platform, or the wider company. We are a global team, who are based within our London, New York and Singapore offices, providing 24/5 support to our clients. Last year, we answered queries for over 8,000 unique individuals across the globe. As our global client base expands, so do the number of users that will look to utilise our support. We support our clients via phone, e-mail and livechat to ensure they are getting the key data they require to reach their research and business objectives.

Role Overview:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a global financial data provider for a Client Services Executive in our New York office. We are seeking an analytical and organised individual with knowledge of the financial markets, client-facing experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Our ideal candidate would have some client-facing experience in the Financial Services industry. We would also consider a Graduate with the ability to learn and grow within the role.

We are continuing to invest in our customer-oriented strategy and this role will report to the Head of US Client Services, and the position is an important part of implementing Preqin’s client-focused approach. Furthermore, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a client-facing role within a fast-growing sector.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responding to incoming client requests independently, often involving liaising internally with research and sales teams
  • Responding to client queries in real-time via LiveChat, using screenshots or walking clients through resolutions via the chat/on the phone
  • Provide proactive and consultative client support to our Core business, complimenting the efforts with retention and net revenue growth for an existing client base.
  • Understanding client use cases for using Preqin and providing guidance on how to obtain relevant data/information from the Preqin platform
  • Advising clients on how to obtain the relevant data/information from platform
  • Training/developing client knowledge of the Preqin platform
  • Work with Research/Sales/Product on implementing points of feedback from clients to help with Customer Experience

Qualifications

Key Requirements for this Role:

  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with financial professionals and the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and simple way
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving skills - ability to have a problem-solving approach to all incoming queries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: vlookups, pivot tables, 'what if’ statements and sorting large amounts of data to help with client requests.
  • High level of attention to detail - accuracy and consistency is a key feature of client support.
  • You should have some experience in customer or sales support/client relations or other client-facing role, as you will be liaising with key decision makers at financial institutions
  • You enjoy working with a friendly and intelligent group of peers as part of a team, balancing urgent tactical work, periodic operational needs, and our longer term sales initiatives.

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • 1-2 years in a client-facing role within the Financial Customer-focused approach – being able to decide what is the best course of action for clients
  • Time management – you’ll be expected to balance a range of incoming tasks and outgoing calls/emails
  • A proactive attitude – you’ll be expected to use your initiative to resolve queries and to build product knowledge
  • Excel skills – you’ll be sorting through large datasets and managing excel sheets. While strong excel skills are preferable, we also provide training to anyone looking to brush up their skills!
  • Team-based attitude – working towards the goals of the global client services team and working closely with CSEs globally
  • Knowledge of CRMs, specifically using Salesforce
