Premier Medical Group of the Hudson Valley is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Poughkeepsie, NY
DEPARTMENT: Finance & Accounting
STATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: The position will report to the CFO. The responsibilities will include:
Payroll Administration:
- Process bi-weekly payroll using Paycor.
- Maintain all related payroll earnings and deductions codes and other information to ensure accurate compensation reporting.
- Assist in calculating compensation adjustments as needed.
- Ensure timekeeping records are complete and accurate working with Practice Managers.
- Update employee record change requests, including deductions, garnishments, direct deposit, tax withholdings, etc.
- Oversee payroll employee-related on/off boarding steps in Paycor.
- Provide customer service for employee questions and concerns about payroll.
- Ensure shareholder compensation benefits are updated.
- Prepare year-end W-2 reporting.
- Ensure all payroll tax filings are complete.
- Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll check.
- Assist with Labor Reporting Prepare manual checks for distribution to employees as needed.
- Perform administrative and processing activities for the company’s 401K and pension plans, including plan enrollment, maintenance, and disbursements.
- Conduct research for participant questions and concerns.
- Work with HR to ensure all employee benefits are current in payroll system and enrollments complete.
- Transmit benefit contributions to third parties.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll journal entry.
- Maintain bi-weekly overtime reports.
- Source information for employment and disability reporting.
- Proven work experience in Payroll and Timekeeping
- Experience with HR and Payroll software.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in Payroll a must; Accounting and Accounts Payable experience needed; healthcare industry desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
