Job Title: Biller Specialist

Summary: Ensures accurate translation of correspondence, dictation, medical reports, and notes for the client's files and company records, as well as maintaining monthly productivity for case management reports and itemized invoices.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Daily entry and electronic submission of charges using CPT and ICD-10 coding, as well as 1500 forms.*

2. Review medical documentation to ensure proper code selection and compliance with coding guidelines.*

3. Transcribe medical information for case management reports and invoices.*

4. Obtain medical reports from physicians, therapists, or other treating providers.•

5. Provide fee letters in response to requests for medical records.*

6. Respond to insurance companies and billing service requests for medical records.*

7. Attach copies of case management reports with billing before bills are mailed.*

8. Apply knowledge of medical terminology in transcribing case management reports.•

9. Generate monthly or bi-monthly billing statements and case management reports on a computer and submit them to insurance companies and attorneys.*

10. Print and review billing statements to ensure correct charges, dates, appropriate notations, and prepare statements for mailing.·

11. Correct billing statement discrepancies on the computer and reprint as needed.·

12. Photocopy and file all related billing statements and documentation as assigned.·

13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior accounting and collection experience is required. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedural coding (CPT and ICD-10).

Language Ability:

Ability to write reports and business correspondences.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet software, database software, electronic medical records software, and transcription software.

Biller Specialist Position

Premier Case Management is a leader in its industry. We provide solutions to clients who have been in an accident and need assistance with medical care coordination, medical equipment, home modifications, therapies, and other services needed to promote our client's rehabilitation and health needs for a quality life.

We seek a person to fulfill the part-time role of Biller Specialist at our Farmington Hills office. You will be responsible for transcribing medical information for case management reports and formulating/ensuring billing statements for services provided.

Requirements include prior accounting and billing experience and excellent English/writing skills/computer skills. Experience using medical terminology and interpreting is required. Typing skills should be at least 40 words per minute or greater. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedural coding (CPT and ICD-10).

Salary is $16/hr. Work days are Monday-Friday. No weekends.
