Fulfilled Care is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Farmington, MI

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Psychiatric Biller to join our healthcare team. The Psychiatric Biller will be responsible for accurately billing and coding mental health services, ensuring compliance with insurance regulations, and maximizing reimbursement for psychiatric services provided by our facility. Additionally, the candidate will serve as a receptionist, handling front desk duties. This role will provide valuable experience in both administrative and billing functions, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time coding position in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing and Coding: Accurately code and submit claims for mental health services provided by psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. Ensure proper coding based on the current healthcare coding systems (such as CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS).

Insurance Verification: Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits to determine their eligibility for mental health services. Obtain necessary pre-authorizations and referrals as required by insurance companies.

Claim Submission: Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies promptly. Monitor the status of claims and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to resolve billing issues and facilitate timely payments.(majority of this is automated)

Payment Posting: Post payments and adjustments received from insurance companies and patients accurately into the billing system. Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies for further investigation.

Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage, co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Provide clear and concise explanations of billing statements and assist patients with payment plans if necessary.

Receptionist Duties: Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage phone calls and emails. Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while providing excellent customer service to patients and visitors.

Transition to Coding: will transition to full time coder as patients load increases.

Compliance: Stay updated with the latest changes in healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and billing codes. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to psychiatric billing practices.
