Preco is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Somerset, WI

Position Summary:
The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting the inspection and testing process at Preco by developing MicroVu program files. This position supports the product development process by completing First Article Inspection reports and collaborates with Quality Engineers to carry out a responsive quality effort to process profitable customer orders and help Preco exceed customer expectations. The Quality Technician is one member of a team that drives and fosters a continuous improvement environment throughout the organization.

Available Shift Options: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-4:00 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Create MicroVu inspection files.
  • Administration of Preco’s Calibration system.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team regarding appropriate inspection and testing methods and techniques.
  • Develop and execute First Article Inspection reports, including measurement of parts and releasing reports.
  • Evaluate product and/or process changes for impact on quality.
  • Develop and execute product and/or process capability studies, as required to support the product teams.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Provides Technical Support Services:

  • Specifies and maintains necessary inspection and testing equipment to ensure conformance to customer specifications.
  • Performs internal auditing functions.
  • Technical support of product and/or process qualification efforts, including customer requirements such as PPAP, First Article, FMEA, Control Plan, Gage Capability Studies, etc.

Provides Administrative Support:

  • Periodically report on the performance of Preco’s Calibration system.
  • Back-up to Documentation Coordinator.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5-10 years quality related experience.
  • Experience maintaining a calibration system certified to ISO 9001
  • Experience programming Precision Measurement Systems (MicroVu preferred).
  • Good understanding of laser processing equipment and methods and dimensional tolerancing desired.
  • 10% travel.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional noise exposer (working around loud-functioning machines).
  • Working around moving machinery (forklifts & industrial equipment)
  • Walking and standing on concrete and other hard surfaces.
  • Protective Equipment Required (eye ware, steel-toed foot ware, head/facial hair nets, etc.)

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
