Job Overview:

PM Fabrication is a growing steel fabricator in Milton, WI. We’re looking for someone who wants to be a part of a stable organization, gain exposure to a wide variety of operations, and have the chance to grow.

The Assistant Project Manager will gather, calculate, and compile data for use in conceptual budgets, hard bids, proposals, quotes, and estimates as well as prepare general cost data related to these fields. You’ll be responsible for procurement and ordering of materials, paint, and hardware associated with projects that have been awarded. You will also assist in managing projects to ensure Precision Metal Fabrication’s standards of quality, schedule and profitability are met.

What you get to do:

• Evaluate opportunities to bid and make recommendations to the Operations Manager.
• Maintain current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact and written materials, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
• Prepare estimates from plans and specifications. Perform quantity take-off for scope of work using Precision’s estimating process.
• Contact material vendors and suppliers during the bidding process to verify inclusions/exclusions, seek cost saving suggestions and review means and methods that would impact our bid.
• Review specifications for project requirements.
• Help to determine strategies, techniques, accuracy, and buildability for all estimates.
• Follow up on submitted bids and obtain feedback on how we compared.

• Perform additional duties as directed by Operations Manager.

What you Bring:

• Four-year or two-year college degree related to construction or completion of an apprenticeship or 4-6 years of experience in a construction or metal shop-related field where knowledge was gained in the areas of metal work, design, finance and management
• SDSII and SolidWorks preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
