DEPARTMENT: Rehabilitation Services

STATUS: PRN/Relief

POSITION SUMMARY - Provides for the application of physical therapy services for patients in acute care, swing bed, long-term care, home health, outpatient, and contractual areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides physical therapy treatment that follows an established care plan and is age, educational level, and culturally appropriate to the patient/family. Provides physical therapy services in accordance with the state practice act. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in the provision of physical therapy services. Completes timely and appropriate documentation that reflects the care provided and follows regulatory requirements. Establishes appropriate charges for services rendered. Assists with coordination of patient care schedules to meet productivity standards. Ensures equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner. Participates in departmental quality and outcome studies. Serves as a clinical instructor for PTA students and high school students. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Graduate from an accredited PTA program with an Associate’s degree in PT Assisting. Previous experience with physical therapy is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Holds or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant

CPR certification per policy.
