An Ashland based engineering firm has an immediate opening for a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to manage all aspects of their financial operations. Reporting directly to the president, this position will be responsible for maintaining the company’s accounting records using QuickBooks Enterprise Edition (the software is an ERP version of Quickbooks software suite). The Accountant will be in-charge of the monthly closing process including all account reconciliations. In addition to record keeping the position has responsibilities for Federal State and local tax compliance, implementing new accounting processes and related system improvements. The accountant will have full financial statement responsibilities including analysis of results and reporting to management.

Additionally, this role will involve human resource functions such as onboarding new staff and acting as a company liaison for payroll and benefits information for approximately 70 current employees. As part of the position the accountant will be required to analyze benefit cost and recommend changes to the plans, The accountant will be responsible for payroll processing using the integrated Intuit payroll system.

Special projects will be assigned by management from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Accounting

• 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Proficiency with Accounting software, preferably ERP versions and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes.

• Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must be willing/able to work on-site however position at this time does not require overtime.
