A “Day in the Life” of the Shipping Manager

The Shipping Manager is a hands-on leader who ensures a world-class operation throughout the warehouse. The warehouse operations include receiving, inventory, and shipping. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency and ensure a safe environment. You will understand each role in the warehouse and serve in any hands-on role that’s needed. You will be a consistent professional who works well with warehouse staff, customers, the leadership team, and all stakeholders.

General Responsibilities

• Learn each position within the warehouse and intimately understand all warehouse operations
• Hire, train, and retain all warehouse staff
• Shift warehouse staff between receiving and shipping as needed
• Be resourceful and work autonomously in problem-solving
• Track and manage inventory
• Inspect the warehouse and keep the warehouse clean and safe
• Evaluate performance metrics to ensure quality delivery and cost-efficient work-flow processes
• Additional related responsibilities as needed
