The Position

The Applied Solutions Group of The Heico Companies is looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to assist with warehouse operations, including coordinating shipments with various carriers using logistics software, assisting coworkers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment: Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Lead; plans, coordinates, and reviews inbound and outbound orders and procedures to ensure shipment of materials from facility as well as receipt of inbound materials are accurate, complete, and in good condition.
• Actively communicates with Customer Service and Planning departments to manage any inventory or order exceptions.
• Communicates order exceptions to Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Lead.
• Assists with inventory reconciliation.
• Assists with movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas, as needed.
• Effectively communicates via email or phone with Logistics/Trucking companies and sends shipment information and pickup dates via Logistics planning software.
• Adheres to company safety policies and procedures.
• Participates, as necessary, in pulling orders if warehouse workload demands.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of experience in shipping & receiving environment, with at least one year of experience in shipping & receiving tasks.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to operate lift truck, hand jacks, computerized scales, wrapping machine, and metal banding machine.
• Accurate, careful and safe behavior is required.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Working knowledge of keyboarding/computer data entry.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to perform math skills to include counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Functionally literate in the English language.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting required.
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively and to work in a positive manner with carriers, co-workers, Customer Service, Inventory, and all other departments within the company.
