Port Washington Children Center is Hiring an Office Assistant (Bilingual required- Spanish) Near Port Washington, NY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors, parents, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and troubleshoot basic information.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office environment.
  • Assist with filing, data entry, and record-keeping tasks related to student, staff records, and NYS OCFS licensing documents using FAMS.
  • Assist in coordinating events and activities.
  • Handle basic administrative tasks as assigned by Administrators.
  • Support classroom teachers on an as-needed basis for additional coverage and/or lunch breaks.
  • Maintain confidentiality within the office and administration team.
  • Serve as a point of contact for various departments; Early Childhood, School Age, and Camps and provide information when needed to Faculty, Staff, and Administrators.
  • Assist and organize transportation during summer months for two camps.


Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Prior experience in an Early Childhood Center setting administrative or office support role required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively with strong time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other computer applications.
  • Experience with FAMS or similar record-keeping software is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule with the ability to work 10:30-6:30 Monday-Friday.
  • MUST speak Spanish and English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21-$23 per hour
