Position: HR Specialist.
Hours: Monday to Friday.
Reports to: HR Director.

Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center Rosemary Anderson High School (POIC RAHS) is a minority-led nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing the highest quality services in education, mentoring, family outreach, employment training and placement.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting training programs which boost employee workplace performance in alliance with the organization’s core values by performing the following duties.
Job Duties:
  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from Supervisor.
  • Assist with leadership trainings.
  • Conducts onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience working in recruiting for a nonprofit. Prefer experience in recruiting diverse candidates who may have different life experience and familiarity with issues of poverty, race, ethnicity, and the impact those issues place on day-to-day life.
