Position Overview

As a Security Business Partner Manager within PNC’s ET&S organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.
The subsidiary CISO will be responsible to partner with subsidiaries to ensure that the expectations of the enterprise are met at the subsidiary level, based on the specific business requirements for that line of business. In this role, the individual will be responsible for:
• Overseeing the execution of a program assessment utilizing a standard framework for security controls (NIST-CSF, NIST 800-53), Financial Services Cyber Risk Profile.
• Partnering with the subsidiary to oversee the review of the assessment, risks, and requirements to close defined gaps.
• Ongoing monitoring and measurement of the subsidiary with a risk scorecard
• Understanding the unique business of each subsidiary and determining control objectives based on the unique needs of that business.
• Partnering with the rest of the Enterprise Information Security leadership team in the implementation of controls and objectives
• Maintaining a services matrix and service quality when services to the subsidiary are provided by the Enterprise Information Security group.
• Providing oversight and governance for new mergers and acquisitions
• Primary Location is Pittsburgh, PA with ability to travel to partner with subsidiary leadership (Linga = Naples, FL, Tempus = Auburn, IN, Harris Williams, Richmond, VA, etc.)
Examples of duties:
• Developing and implementing secure processes and systems used to prevent, detect, mitigate, and recover from cyberattacks.
• Educating and managing technology risk in collaboration with subsidiary business leaders
• Building and driving a cybersecurity strategy and framework, with initiatives to secure the subsidiary organization's cyber and technology assets.
• Continuously evaluating and managing the cyber and technology risk posture of the subsidiary organization.
• Implementing and managing the cyber governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) process.
• Developing, justifying, and evaluating cybersecurity investments.
• Developing and implementing ongoing security awareness training and education for users.
• Policy support: Monitor current and proposed laws, regulations, industry standards and ethical requirements related to information security and privacy, so that CBC can take proactive measures to ensure full compliance to these requirements. Recommend courses of action and policy development to senior management that allow CBC to securely meet its organizational goals.
• Risk Management: Provide guidance and oversight of vulnerability assessments and audits to ascertain the current state of information security and to identify areas of high, medium and low risk to IT management, and to assist in the development of risk mitigation programs to address the risks identified.
• Security Architecture: Create infrastructure security standards to provide guidance to System Architects for implementing secure architectures. Review and provide input to all proposed changes to CBC IT system architectures or proposed services in order to maintain or improve the security posture of the overall infrastructure.
• Provide technical consultation, guidance, and assistance to technical staff, Business Units, and other internal customers to ensure appropriate corporate security is maintained.
• Serve as an active member of the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) and participate in these efforts by having an in-depth technical knowledge of common security exploits, vulnerabilities, and counter measures.
• Maintain an expert knowledge in the field of Information Security and the related issues, systems, processes, products, and services. Participate in defining corporate strategic direction as it relates to Information Security.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience preferred.
Prior Experience/Background:
• Prior CISO or Security Executive experience.
• Understanding of risk frameworks and measurement.
• Understanding of all Enterprise Information Security (EIS) risk domains so the candidate can partner with EIS leadership.
• Influence/negotiation skills
• Ability to present facts and data in a method to assist the business and drive change forward, as needed.

Job Description

  • Responsible for providing and leading relationship management for specific business and staff functions, ensuring integrated delivery of cyber, fraud and physical security services and a centralized escalation point. Serves as strategic partner to the lines of business and staff areas, accountable for bringing the right security resources together to provide security solutions. Leverages the integrated expertise of the team and reporting capabilities, allowing businesses to elevate their security posture in a risk-balanced manner. Provides a strategic advantage to PNC and supports building of trust in the brand.
  • Leads team with responsibility for the relationship with the largest and/or most complex and sophisticated clients. Serves as the senior point of escalation to ensure successful outcomes and is responsible for the overall client experience with a technology organization, including, cyber, fraud and physical security risk, business demand management, technology expenditures, client feedback & relationship management.
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to implement improvements and ensure the execution of solutions that are cost effective, meet business requirements and are consistent with technology capabilities, functionality and the proactive integration of security.
  • Directs the consulting services to internal business groups on process improvement projects designed to support product strategies and revenue generation/cost reduction.
  • Directs the gathering and analysis of complex client requirements, and the transformation of requirements into functional/non-functional requirements.
  • Directs, motivates, develops, and manages the performance of the management team and key staff.

Work Experience


Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8 years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
