Position Summary:

Medical receptionist handles and routes all incoming calls, greets patients and families, is responsible for insurance verification, cash collections, and correct handling of patient information.

Responsibilites:

- Receives patients and families and provides assistance with scheduling appointments and patient registration

- Greets patients and families in a courteous and professional manner

- Follows proper patient check in procedure including gathering demographic and insurance information

- Ensures that required visit documentation are received and delivered to needed parties

- Creates and maintain patient's electronic medical record as needed

- Answers non medical questions and provides non medical instructions

- Ensures referrals are available and coordinates exchange of medical information

- Collects and verifies patient insurance information via electronic medical verification tool and online payer portals

- Coordinate care with insurance companies as needed

- Communicates with patients and families regarding financial responsibilities and collects payments such as personal balances and co pay amounts

- Conducts appointment reminder and needed visit calls

- Follows HIPPAA policies at all times

- Participates in company sponsored safety programs

- Other duties as assigned

Other:

- High School education or equivalent

- Competent in use of basic office equipment

- Ability to communicate effectively and remain professional when interacting with potentially hostile patients and family members

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
