The Risk Manager, reports to the Quality Director and is responsible for the organization’s Risk Management Program activities. Activities include, but are not limited to, administering the risk management program, analyzing and reporting risk management data, conducting risk management educational programs, Overseeing physician peer review, managing claims, interacting with facility and defense legal counsel. In addition, the Risk Manager assures compliance with the state and federal regulatory standards, and participates in performance improvement, information management, utilization management, and environment of care, all with the objective of controlling and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the facility. Basic Qualifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of California, Bachelor of Nursing degree. Possesses excellent oral, written and communication skills. Familiar with DNV NIAHO Standards, Title 22, Conditions of Participation and ISO 9001-2008. 1. Extensive job knowledge in nursing, patient care services and administrative practice.
2. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience, with 1 year in leadership position. Lead and facilitate teams
3. Knowledge of computer software programs Word, Excel, E-mail, Power Point, and the internet/intranet
4. Knowledge of Midas, Quadra-Med QCPR, Allscripts ED, and Affinity
5. Knowledge of DNV NIAHO Standards, Title 22, Conditions of Participation and ISO 9001-2008
6. Strong analytic problem-solving skills, using a system’s approach
7. Effective skills in professional writing, interpersonal communications and negotiations
8. Organizational skills to manage time efficiently
9. Ability to interact effectively with all customers, including but not limited to physicians, staff, patients, visitors, and surveyors
10. Maintain calm and professional demeanor in all situations, including interacting with publicLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:  Current CPR certification.
