Pilecki Institute USA, Inc. is a Polish cultural hub that specializes in the political history of the 20th century, with a particular focus on the Nazi and Soviet totalitarian regimes and their global consequences. We aim to open our NY location in 2025.

During this preparatory period, we are launching our online presence. We aim to build an engaged audience and utilize this platform to share enriching historical and cultural content. The forthcoming introduction of our institute to New York is an exciting opportunity to extend a figurative “Hello to New York” and establish meaningful connections within the cultural and academic communities of the city.

Social Media Content Specialist

Are you ready to take on the exciting challenge of transforming historical content into captivating narratives? As a Social Media Content Specialist at Pilecki Institute USA, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming complex historical narratives into engaging and shareable content. Your role will involve creating a digital brand identity and conceptualizing innovative ideas for our social media platforms and website. Collaborating closely with historians and our growing media team, you’ll have the opportunity to bring history to life in the digital realm. Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation:

• Transform historical narratives into high-quality, visually captivating, and appealing content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

• Curate and organize a dynamic content calendar, ensuring the consistency of content across all platforms.

• Foster a cohesive visual and voice identity across all platforms, enhancing our online presence and brand recognition.

2. Strategy Development:

• Strategize and plan ahead for key historical events, anniversaries, and campaigns to maintain relevance and maximize engagement.

• Identify and leverage current social media trends and emerging platforms to keep our content fresh and engaging.

• Experiment with new content formats and features.

3. Collaboration:

• Engage closely with our team of historians to brainstorm ideas, gather insights, and ensure the accuracy of historical content.

• Partner with the Graphic Designer and other team members to align social media strategies with our overall branding and messaging.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align social media content with broader marketing initiatives.

• Collaborate with the team to script, shoot, and edit captivating videos that entertain and educate viewers.

4. Analytics and Reporting:

• Utilize social media analytics tools to track and analyze the performance of content.

• Provide regular reports with insights and recommendations for optimization.

5. Community Engagement:

• Monitor and engage with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and mentions.

• Foster positive interactions and cultivate a sense of community around our brand.

6. Event Coverage:

• Attend events and programs to capture captivating photos and videos for social media posts.

• Provide live coverage and behind-the-scenes content to enhance our online presence during key events.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

-Proven 2 to 3 years of experience as a Social Media Content Specialist or similar role.

-Strong creative and storytelling skills with the ability to generate fresh ideas and turn them into engaging social media content.

-In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and their best practices.

-Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting tools.

-Ability to multitask and manage multiple social media accounts simultaneously.

-Proficiency in photo and video editing software to enhance content quality and creativity is preferred.
