Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital), located in Southern Brooklyn, accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery. 

Responsibilities

PAGNY Seeks a Full Time General Pediatrician to join our team at South Brooklyn Health!

• Serve as a Primary Care provider for Pediatric Patients
• Advise patients, parents or guardians and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
• Examine children regularly to assess their growth and development
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians
• Monitor patients' condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary
• Plan and execute medical care programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents
• Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children
• Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary
• Educate, train and mentor residents and junior members of the medical team

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School
• Completion of an accredited residency program in pediatrics
• Board Certification or the ability to become Board Certified in Pediatrics within 5 years of hire
• Active New York State License
• Experience working with an underserved patient population a plus!

• Salary Amount or Range: $205,000 - $210,000
