Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director
Primary Responsibilities:
● Manage daily operations of a community mental health agency office that provides Comprehensive Crisis Services to include Mobile Crisis Response, 23 Hour Crisis Stabilization, and Community Stabilization services.
● Directly supervise the work of Administrative and clinical Staff, and Community Liaison staff as assigned
● Maintain an effective team of direct service providers and complete hiring processes to ensure an adequate staffing plan is in place for assigned site.
● Coordinate with upper management team members routinely.
● Coordinate with referral sources and assessment staff and ensure referrals are processed in a timely manner.
● Consistently demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with internal team members and community partners.
● Ensures compliance with personnel and client records to ensure compliance with DBHDS and DMAS regulations.
● Submit weekly reports to upper management regarding billing, payroll and performance outcomes for assigned site.
● Ensures authorization requests to Magellan of Virginia and Managed Care Organizations are reviewed and submitted timely.
● Communicate effectively with Care Coordinators and other representatives of Managed Care Organizations to ensure service coordination efforts of individuals served.
● Monitor staff in reference to compliance with agency policies and coordinates with Supervisors to ensure direct service staff are held accountable for compliance with company policies, procedures and disciplinary action.
● Conduct meetings at least monthly with all staff, and more frequently if needed as directed by Executive Director.
● Represent agency at community functions as needed.
● Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes for services offered by the agency and eligibility criteria for those services.
● Maintain certifications and trainings as required by Phoenix and Peace and regulatory agencies.
● Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
● Be available to work onsite Monday - Friday during the day, and evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
● Own an operable, registered, and insured vehicle to be used for service delivery when deemed necessary.
● Provide and maintain an acceptable driving record and keep vehicles registered and insured during the entire length of employment.
● Provide services in various neighborhoods, including crime-ridden and poverty-stricken communities, and within the homes of clients, which may present in unsanitary and/or unhealthy conditions.
● Possess, keep, use, and own a personal cell phone providing the cell phone number to Leadership, Staff, Community Liaison, Referral Sources, Community Providers, and clients when necessary.
● Possess, keep, and check two times daily a valid Phoenix and Peach email address.
● Have access to and ability to use a computer, printer, internet services, and other necessary items and equipment to produce electronic program documentation/paperwork.
● Be available after work hours for emergencies.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
● Knowledge in human services, including family and individual sessions.
● Understanding of documentation for mental health principles.
● Ability to develop and implement an Individual Service Plan.
● Knowledge of Community Crisis Services activities and proficiency in implementing strategies.
● Excellent communication skills, concise both orally and in writing documentation.
● Knowledge of community resources and familiarity with geographical areas.
● Proficiency with computer skills and demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
● Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
● Experience in clinical documentation and mental health.
● Experience providing direct services to individuals with mental illness.
● Ability to completely manage the daily operations of the facility and delegate task to support staff.
● Experience providing supervision and/or management of employees.
● Knowledge of the areas of need for adults with serious mental illness and youth who are at risk for out of home placement.
● Ability to work from a person-centered framework when providing training services.
● Proficiency in clinical interviewing skills.
● Ability to train staff in appropriate crisis and mental health interventions.
● Ability to identify clinical risk factors for suicide, violence and other risky behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications
● Master's degree in human services field or management.
● QMHP A and/or C registration( Licensed as an LPC or LCSW or eligible as a resident or supervisee toward LPC or LCSW licensure is a plus)
● Minimum of 5 years of experience working with clients with mental health conditions.
● Experience in leadership with a human services or mental health agency.
● Marketing experience or knowledge of DMAS marketing requirements.
