    Description

    DELIVERY DRIVER
    General: The Driver Technician is responsible for the delivery of IV’s, medications, and supplies to nursing homes and other residential care facilities as scheduled.
    Responsibilities And Duties:
    1. Loads medication cassettes, totes, contingency boxes, and supplies into vehicle for nursing home and other residential care facilities delivery when scheduled. Closes all vehicle doors and locks vehicle while unattended.
    2. Safely drives delivery vehicle on designated route, to deliver medications, IV’s and supplies to nursing homes and other residential care facilities in a timely manner.
    3. Works with facilities to solve a variety of problems, thereby acting as a company field representative.
    4. Completes delivery and pickup paperwork promptly and accurately, obtaining required signatures on all deliveries, returning paperwork to the appropriate pharmacy personnel. Completes incident reports, discrepancy forms, and medication return forms when needed and places them into inter-office envelopes addressed to appropriate staff.
    5. Demonstrates promptness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when dealing with customers. Reports any concerns to appropriate pharmacy staff or Compliance Officer/Driver Manager.
    6. Picks up rental equipment and pre-cleans and disinfects equipment on location before placing in delivery vehicle and returning to warehouse. If this is not possible, item must be placed in bag and labeled with “Dirty” sticker.
    7. Assists in minor repair work when needed.
    8. Performs weekly cleaning and disinfection of assigned vehicle and documents on appropriate form.
    9. Maintains a neat, clean personal appearance, and wears ID badge when doing deliveries.
    10. Promotes teamwork among co-workers which includes assisting fellow drivers, as needed.
    11. Performs warehouse and maintenance tasks while waiting to be released to go on deliveries.
    12. Markets the company in a positive and professional manner at ALL times.
    13. Drives company vehicles in a safe and professional manner following all DOT regulations.
    14. Med Cart Repair as necessary.
    15. Accepts other duties and activities assigned.
    Ergonomic Requirements:
    1. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time-possibly up to 5 hours if necessary.
    2. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs, and be in good physical condition
    3. Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods in extreme cold or heat weather conditions.
    4. Must have manual dexterity, have excellent vision capable of close up and long distances, color discrimination, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focusing ability.

    6. Must be able to safely perform nighttime driving.
    7. Must be able to climb stairs carrying items repeatedly.
    8. Must be able to speak clearly, smell, and tolerate possible loud noise levels.
    9. Must be aware of potential of blood borne pathogens and capability of understanding handling of such.
    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
    Experience/Knowledge:
    Must have good organizational skills, willingness to function as a cooperative team member with a responsible and cooperative attitude and be neat and clean in personal appearance. Must have excellent driving record and be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to maintain delivery logs, mileage logs, and safety inspection checklist. Must be dependable worker-able to carry out a series of work instructions independently.
