As a Regional Manager for Heavy Civil Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of multiple construction projects across a region. You will lead a team of project managers, engineers, and other staff members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will have a direct and ongoing working relationship with the VP of Operations. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business. You will be accountable for the overall success of the region, including financial performance, safety, and employee engagement. The growth path for this position may lead to a Vice President position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the quality of work.
2. Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within the region, and work with the sales team to develop and secure new contracts.
3. Collaboration: Review and collaborate with estimators on bidding proposals within the region.
4. Financial Performance: Work closely with project managers and other staff members to monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are profitable and meet financial targets.
5. Safety Management: Ensure that all projects within the region are conducted safely, and in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and policies.
6. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on the performance of the region, including financial performance, project status, and client satisfaction.
7. Talent Management: Provide recruiting efforts for regional employees.
Key Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience: At least 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with clients.
3. Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of heavy civil construction, including excavation, grading, paving, and underground utilities construction.
4. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of staff members.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
6. Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze financial reports, develop budgets, and identify new business opportunities.
7. Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and policies in heavy civil construction.
8. Travel: Willingness to travel from Knoxville to the region to oversee projects and meet with clients.
