Summary:
Provide overall administrative and technical management on transmission & distribution construction project sites from bid preparation through final acceptance by client.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May directly supervise up to 20 supervisors with crews of 200.
Requirements:
Knowledge of construction, design, finance and management. Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. Thorough understanding of corporate and power industry practices, processes, standards and activities.
Education and Experience:
Four year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. Minimum of five years construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience in transmission & distribution construction. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, estimating, schedules and safety required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use talk or hear and taste and smell. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employee is required to wear personal protective equipment to include (but not limited to) hard hat, work boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and similar. Employee must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and must be approved prior to driving company owned or leased vehicles.
May work 12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week in extreme hot and cold environments. Wears all required personal protective equipment on daily basis. May be exposed to poisonous snakes, insects and similar. May be required to work on variable terrain in performance of duties. May be required to operate motor vehicle. Routinely lifts/carries up to 20 pounds unassisted on daily basis.
