Human Resources Manager
About the Position:
Philippi-Hagenbuch (PHIL) is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to join a close-knit team of 40 associates. The Human Resources Manager is a one-person department that thrives with the support of management. The focus of the Human Resources Manager is to promote the principles, values, vision, and mission of PHIL, and to support the Company in meeting its goals. This is accomplished by coordinating and executing the company's HR functions, while recommending strategic direction and operational improvements for those functions. This work focuses upon the following major categories: (a) recruitment and hiring, (b) workforce development, communication, and employee morale (c) compensation and performance management, (d) benefit administration and wellness, and (e) aid in environmental health and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with management to determine staffing needs, plan recruitment strategy, and overall workforce planning.
  • Conduct full-cycle recruiting processes including management of job postings, coordinate and schedule interviews, pre-employment testing, background screening, associate onboarding, and creation and maintenance of associate files.
  • Recommend strategic direction on current HR functions and processes, including staffing and workforce development.
  • Lead management team in conducting annual performance reviews and create metrics to measure work performance.
  • Guide management in progressive discipline decision-making, up to and including termination.
  • Collaborate with management to create, implement, and communicate new policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to establish a compensation plan and structure, including conducting appropriate compensation surveys.
  • Administer and manage all associate benefits and benefit programs.
  • Serve as the on-site representative of the Company at all times.
  • Oversee and manage all HR functions within the Company.
Characteristics of Someone Perfect for this Role:
  • Knowledge of and experience in the practical application of current and sound HR practices.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a polite, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
  • Organizational ability to plan workload, prioritize assignments, and create schedule to assist the Company with meeting goals and objectives.
  • Ability to understand, explain, and take action on complex HR issues.
  • Ability to identify organization flaws in current HR procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and thoroughly to associates of all levels, vendors, and customers.
Experience Required:
  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or other relevant field.
  • 5 - 8 years' experience working in Human Resources required.
  • Ability to meet the mental and physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
