Philharmonic Society of Orange County is Hiring a Development Coordinator Near Irvine, CA

The Philharmonic Society of Orange County seeks a detail-oriented administrative professional, who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our growing team as Development Coordinator. The Development Coordinator will provide strategic support as part of an innovative Development team responsible for meeting and exceeding annual contributed revenue goals. Candidate must be a problem solver, resourceful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, experienced in managing donor databases, preferably Tessitura, as well as a passion for classical music/musical arts and educational programs. This position requires work in evenings and on weekends for concerts and events throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and proficiency in Tessitura for donor management (essential qualification)
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a goal-oriented attitude
  • Ability to set priorities, think strategically, take initiative, and solve problems while managing multiple deadlines.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and strong sense of customer service (position is donor facing) with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of work/projects; be thorough, with great attention to details and accuracy.
  • Knowledge and proficiency of MS Office programs, in particular: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Passion for classical music/musical arts and educational programs
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) Responsibilities Include:
  • Database Management and Gift Processing

o Accurate entry, tracking and updating of all incoming gifts, pledges and receivables.

o Regular gift reporting to Development Department and reconciliation with Finance Department.

o Generate various reports and lists as needed.

o Generate donor acknowledgments for all donations in a timely fashion.

o Donor and prospect research: maintain donor and prospect database, including individuals, corporate and foundation support. May require support of other applications to interface with and/or migrate into Tessitura, such as Mobile Cause, Wealth Engine, and others.

o Maintaining database integrity throughout donor database process required.

o Serve as primary liaison for the Development Department with Tessitura technical support; attend and participate in consortium Tessitura meetings.

o Optimize use of Tessitura, TNEW and Analytics for all fundraising processes to help the department work more strategically and effectively.

  • Administrative Support & Communications

o General administrative support for the department, including filing, copying, and mailing, and scheduling appointments/lunches with donors.

o Coordinate production of Development collateral.

o Supply deliverables and communicate updates on behalf of Development to other departments.

o Track department expenses and report to the Finance Department.

o Support donor stewardship efforts.

o Maintain comprehensive Development Department and organizational calendars.

o Draft and send donor correspondence and communication.

o Attend and support organizational and Development related events, including opening night celebrations, annual gala, donor benefit events, etc.

o Act as staff liaison for the Board of Directors’ Development Committee, including sending meeting reminders, preparing meeting agendas/packets, and taking minutes for the monthly meetings.

o Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
