Philadelphia Youth Network is Hiring an OST Program Director Near Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia Youth Network is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full-Time OST Program Director to lead and manage the components of the 21st Century Program. This individual will Serve as a liaison between program and external entities such as providers, vendors, contractors, and the community. The Program Director will also supervise Site Coordinators, Assistant Group Supervisors, and Security staff and oversee the coordination of program initiatives and special projects within the 21st Century Program.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel 75% of the time
  • Must have reliable transportation to visit and supervise multiple program sites
  • Must be able to attend occasional weekend and/or evening trainings and events
  • Must have experience working with youth of all cultures
  • Must have active supervision experience and ability to redirect youth that may exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Experience managing and/or supervising 21st Century Community Learning Programs
  • Must be able to complete and pass physical examination
  • Must be able to attend and complete CPR/ First Aide training
  • Must be able to successfully pass background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting)

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Plan, organize and manage the implementation, operation, and related components of the 21st Century Program according to the approved grant
  • Manage and supervise program operations and staff
  • Administer policies and procedures according to district and grant specifications.
  • Communicate with Principal(s), staff, families, and program contractors on all aspects of the after-school program
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all program reports to appropriate agencies
  • Provide periodic reports to the VP of Programs on all audits, monitoring visits and program evaluations to ensure the program is in compliance and aligned to state and district regulations for the grant
  • Work with appropriate personnel on the annual grant budget to ensure that the program meets required financial obligations and is financially secure
  • Works with VP of Programs to review program outcomes; assess program impact on student achievement and adjust programmatic expectations accordingly
  • Ensure proper retention of all grants related documents and files according to guidelines for the 21st Century Program
  • Implement safety and security plans; ensures staff understands all safety and security procedures
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in social work, education, child-care, non-profit management or other related or associate degree in related field and 6 years of experience
  • 3 years of successful teaching experience in a classroom setting and/or 2 years of administrator experience working in After School Programs.
  • Knowledge of After-School Programs including locations, space and managing budgets
  • Ability to administer age-appropriate activities e.g. STEM, Project Based Learning and Social Emotional Learning
  • Knowledge of 21st Century Grant Program Delivery and management of staff leadership
  • Knowledge of school safety and security procedures
  • Knowledge of National Standards for Quality School-Age Care
  • Ability to analyze and solve issues while communicating processes and results to diverse constituents
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must be self-starter
  • Ability to perform general management and supervisory duties
  • Ability to think creatively and interact effectively with diverse constituencies
  • Ability to develop and manage multiple constituent relationships and program components simultaneously
  • Ability to complete multiple responsibilities simultaneously under time pressure.
  • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
  • Experience cultivating and managing partnerships with community & advocacy organizations and/or government entities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well ability to integrate a wide range of technology and data management into daily work
  • Must travel within the Philadelphia area. Travel may extend overnight for mandatory statewide and nationwide conferences or training
  • Successfully passing background checks (PA State Criminal, PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse, U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender Registry, and F.B.I. fingerprinting)
