Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. Facilitates and manages the implementation of preventative health education programs at the hospital and in the community. Responsible for federal grant reporting. Responsible for submitting Request for Proposals for the grant funding, which requires developing a program that fits the requirements. Interacts with the school district to set up preventative health education programs in the schools in the area, as well as outreach to the community centers, senior centers, and libraries to develop programs and provider services in these sites. Also, needs to make sure all JEP tasks are met as well as school district requirements are met. Responsible for 3.8 million federal funds per year.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Works with Women and Children Services management team to assess health education needs of patient population and local community
  • Develops preventative health education programs to meet the needs of the patient population and the community.
  • Creates and resources user-friendly education materials to be used in the hospital and in the community.
  • Works with health educators to implement health education programs in the hospital, local schools, pre-schools, libraries, faith-based sites, senior sites, pantries and community sites
  • Strengthens Women, Children Services relationship with community-based organizations through attendance at, participation in, and presentations to community meetings and presentations for community-based organizations.
  • Oversees the supervision and review of all SNAP-Ed documentation, timesheets, and fiscal data and information to ensure it is correct and timely.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing contracts and grants connected directly to ABS
  • Liaisons with Management Entity at Penn State University for SNAP-Ed regarding SNAP-Ed educational programming.

Education:

Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology or Social Work required.

Experience:

Experience with grants preferred.
