Job Title: Accounting Manager

Department: Finance

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing our overall accounting strategy. This role includes managing daily accounting operations, preparing financial statements, developing procedures for accounting activities, and ensuring the accuracy of the company's financial information. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in supporting the financial decision-making process by providing accurate and timely financial information and analysis.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

  • Update the cash schedule.
  • Process bank transfers.
  • Deposit Checks.
  • Open mail.
  • Review as well as set up electronic payments.
  • Book non-credit card operating expenses.

Weekly Tasks:

  • Produce projected financials.
  • Update the 13-week cash forecast.
  • Update Company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Process loan transfers.
  • Review weekly KPIs.
  • Review VA’ transactions.
  • Review transactions, Amazon statement summaries, and manage various accounting tasks (e.g., Prepaid Insurance, Prepaid Expenses, OPEX Review).
  • Book transactions for specific operational activities (Ping Pong, GetParker)
  • Request statements from top E-Commerce vendors.

Bi-Monthly:

  • Handle payroll processing.
  • Book payroll
  • Manage payments to Virtual Assistants (VAs).
  • Provide departments with net sales per pay period.

Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Manage depreciation schedules.
  • Manage monthly accruals.
  • Customer rebates guidance.
  • Customer profit shares.
  • Calculate and run commissions, including specific commission calculations.
  • Conduct inventory adjustments, issue payments, and manage monthly Marketing Development Funds (MDFs).
  • Review and book e-commerce rebates and update rebate schedules.
  • Export and preparing of aging, accruals and net GL Activity.
  • Pay Amex.
  • Issue Netspend payments.
  • Monthly MDF’s.
  • Reclass intertest expense.
  • Review of inventory reporting.
  • Booking of eCom rebates and updating of rebate schedules.

Quarterly

  • Prepare and mail checks.

Yearly

  • Manage employee deductions for health insurance.
  • Prepare for annual Windes reviews.

Miscellaneous:

  • Prepare final checks.
  • Reimbursement checks.
  • Employee purchases.
  • Inventory CTA’s.
  • Financial requests and adjustments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience with Sage 500 is required. 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience with payroll processing, tax filing, and financial forecasting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with banking, tax personnel, and other financial partners.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to oversee and guide a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time hybrid position requiring a standard 40-hour workweek, with additional hours as needed to meet deadlines and during peak periods. Working 5 days in office during training may be required.
