Expectations
To excel in the role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing technical sales activities (capital, project, or services) for valves and automation within a specified geography, product line, or market segment to achieve established sales targets.
1. Area Sales Manager (ASM) acts as both a technical and sales asset leader and is expected to support and grow the sales of Valmet Flow Control products in their given territory.
2. Negotiate sales with existing and new customers who are of strategic importance to the organization.
3. Prepare sales forecasts and budgets; monitor sales volume, revenues, and costs against forecasts to identify problem areas; and adapt procedures to improve the overall performance.
4. Contribute to the development of channel sales, customer retention, pricing, and distribution strategies for area of responsibility.
5. Provide coaching in the problem-solving approach to sales and service using the technical solutions associated with the organization's products and services and internal procedures
6. Focus on sales promotions; and on sales techniques, procedures and standards that will help the team achieve their sales targets
7. Geographical scope: focus on Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast
To succeed in this role you will need:
- Technical acumen for valves, instrumentation, or automation
- Proven experience as an account manager or similar role
- 5-8 Years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
- Ability to travel up to 40%
