Medical Support Assistant

Location: Rock Hill, SC

FLSA Classification: SCA

Employment Class: Full Time Regular

Position Summary:

1 Health Solutions, LLC (a federal government contractor) is seeking qualified Medical Support Assistant who will provide services for patients at the Catawba Service Unit located in Rock Hill, SC.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Scan all patient documents into the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and manage all release-of-information requests.
• Answer phones and take messages or transfer calls as needed.
• Assist as coverage for patient registration and assist patients with scheduling appointments 
• Assist the Purchased and Referred Care technicians with sending and getting medical documentation from providers.
• Utilize information technology systems such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) or RPMS
• Responsible for complete charting is updated as required. 
• Perform work with multicultural patients and interpreters as necessary for non-English speaking patients.
• Assist the Supervisory Health Systems Specialist as needed for duties to be performed 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Shift Requirements:

• Eight (8) hours/day; Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week• Hours will typically be 8:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. 

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent. • Related customer service experience within the past twelve (12) months• Current American Heart Association Certifications (BLS).• Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office, Adobe, and conferencing software. • Proficient writing and organizational skills.

Other Requirements:

• Must follow all appropriate federal required information Technology security requirements and will be operating under Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) and Privacy Act regulations. 
• All healthcare providers must attend mandatory orientations specified by the IHS 
• The contractor must be subject to character investigation as required by Public Law 101-360, the Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:

• Some walking and standing are required. You may have to lift and carry equipment (i.e. books, tools) weighing approximately 10-15 pounds.• Most of the work is performed indoors• Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time• Requires standing for periodically• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend

Other: Position is contingent upon award of contract.
