PFB Custom Homes is Hiring a Project Accountant Near Meridian, ID

PFB Custom Homes Group, LLC is a national company based in Meridian, ID with several brands in the timber frame, log, and energy efficient markets. Under the brands of PrecisionCraft Log & Timber Homes, Riverbend Timber Framing, Point Zero Homes and M.T.N Design, PFB Custom Homes Group designs, fabricates and builds luxurious, energy-efficient, custom log homes and timber frame homes across North America and internationally.

We are seeking a Project Accountant based out of our Meridian, ID location to assist our fast paced, team oriented office with construction project accounting related responsibilities. In this position you will perform various administrative and accounting related functions, with a high standard of accuracy and professionalism, in support of the construction managers and site supervisors in execution and fulfillment of the organization's contractual obligations under the Design Fabricate Build contracts. This is NOT a remote position.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

· Gather, collect, review, and analyze new subcontractor paperwork; including COI, W-9 and banking information for onboarding.

· Regularly review existing subcontractor documentation to confirm ongoing compliance and conformity with insurance, local and state construction license regulations as well as sales and use tax registrations where required.

· In support of new subcontractor engagements; review BuilderTrend work orders for accuracy and release to subcontractor for execution.

· Review open WO/PO to determine if they are complete, correct and still valid.

· Cancel work orders that are revoked.

· Review subcontractor/vendor invoices for correct and valid information.

· Review and prepare monthly project draw packages; which may include but is not limited to sub-contractor pay applications, bank financing forms and lien waivers.

· Lien waiver management and compliance.

· Gather facts, maintain detailed listing and log of chargebacks, warranty and/or insurance claims.

· Draft preliminary insurance claim notifications for Senior Management review and filing.

· Work with leaders of the design-build operations; including construction managers and site supervision staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports monthly.

· Assist with month-end activities such as loan draws, project job costing, project budget analysis and construction related account reconciliations.

· Organize and manage online project files in a consistent manner to easily find documents.

· Regularly offer up process improvements and ideas to further automate the design fabricate build day to day operating activities.

· Other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager or VP – Finance.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business, or other relevant field of study preferred.
  • 2 years progressive administrative, bookkeeping and/or accounting experience in a construction environment preferred.

  • Sense of urgency and intellectual curiosity
  • Proficient in MS Office – Especially Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with standard construction terms, timelines and nomenclature
  • Critical-thinking/Problem solving skills.
  • Written / Verbal skills.
  • Knowledge of construction, accounting, file management and administrative procedures
