Job Summary:

The Idaho Crop Improvement Association is seeking motivated individuals to assist with the inspection of Certified Seed Potato fields in Eastern and Central Idaho. No previous experience is required and training will be provided; however, successful candidates must be able to learn to identify Potato Plant diseases within a suitable amount of time.

A good work ethic and attention to detail are required. You must be a self-starter, cooperate and work well within a team, and demonstrate the ability to stay productive with minimum supervision. Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and proof of vehicle insurance. This job will require full days of walking across uneven potato fields, and often times are required to pick leaves or cut stems from the potato plants, to be tested for viruses. You will be working in the Idaho outdoor elements, so you must be able to endure heat, sun, wind, cold, etc.

The position is full-time (M-F, 40 hours per week). Term of employment begins approximately 7/1/24 and will continue until the completion of field inspections in late August or early September. Starting wage is $14.50 per hour with mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate. Individuals who would be willing and able to return in subsequent seasons are preferred.
