Pete's RV Center is looking for a dynamic Fixed Operations Manager to join our Plainville, MA team! The ideal candidate will have experience managing service technicians, service writers and parts personnel in an automotive, marine or RV dealership.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitability through increased sales, gross profit, P&L management, and labor cost control
  • Increase parts and service revenues and profits through the achievement of set objectives in relationship to parts and accessories sales
  • Assist the warranty department with training and performance
  • Hire, train, motivate and monitor the performance of the service and parts department managers
  • Build and maintain a high performing team of Technicians, Service Advisors, Parts Associates, Warranty Administrators, Lot Porters, and RV Detailers
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service and parts departments
  • Monitor the performance of the service and parts departments
  • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the departments and with all other departments
  • Understand, keeps abreast of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect repair operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA etc.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
  • Hold weekly department meetings
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
  • Foster professional employee development and coordinates with department managers to determine need for advanced training
  • Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
  • Manage employee schedules and payroll for both the service and parts departments
  • Conduct walkthroughs with the Shop Foreman to review operations and spot potential problems
  • Make customer satisfaction a department priority, ensuring that service and parts personnel are courteous and respectful in their interaction with customers
  • Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership’s guidelines
  • Assist with developing dealership service and parts pricing plans and recommends to Senior Management
  • Work with parts and service managers to find ways to improve the overall profitability of the dealership
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities
  • Maintain safe work environment
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors or Vocational school degree preferred or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 5 to 7 years business experience with at least 3 years in the RV or automotive industry
  • The successful candidate is expected to make decisions in the field relating to warranty, parts and service, accessory, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task & strong listening/concentration skills – telephone calls, email, data analysis, report writing
  • Analysis and creative problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and profitability in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and/or move up to 50 lbs, stand for prolonged periods of time, stoop, crawl, and bend
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, dealership software)
  • Ability to read and analyze P&L reports
  • General knowledge of RV units, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, mechanical and schematics
  • Valid driver's license

*Compensation will be comprised of a base salary and monthly bonus based on KPI goals.
